TAPROOM
Taproom Menu - What's On Tap? - Beer-To-Go - Hours & Location

Our storefront in beautiful downtown Hood River features a lively mix of locals and tourists, pizzas and salads, beers and...beers...

We try to provide a fun and comfortable atmosphere for everyone who enters. Barstools share space with simple tables and some well-worn "leather" couches. When the weather allows, we set up tables on the sidewalk for alfresco drinking and dining. Our garage doubles as a lounge and/or mini music hall on busy nights.

Since the beginning, we've been lucky to hire some of the best staffers you'll find anywhere. Our team works hard to keep everyone happy and maintain the welcoming vibe. We hope it works for you.

TAPROOM MENU

While our food menu is simple, we strive, as with our beers, to source the best ingredients available. Many of our basic supplies (cheeses, meats, crushed tomatoes, olive oil, etc) come from Provvista Specialty Foods, the Northwest's best purveyor. The sausage for our pizza is handmade by Viande Meats in Northwest Portland, while our bratwurst and bier sausages are special-ordered from Old Country Deli Sausage Company on Portland's East Side. We make our salad dressings from scratch, and we seek out local greens and herbs for our salads and pizza toppings.

A few words about our pizza. We like to call it a "bar version" of the great thin-crust, coal-oven pies that rule the roost back in New York City and especially in New Haven, Connecticut, just up the road from where Charlie grew up. Our dough is made locally with Shepherd's Grain flour, and is slow-fermented to develop flavor and texture. Ingredients are kept simple, and the pies are light yet intensely flavored. The perfect complement to a fine craft beer.

We use a small but mighty brick-lined oven to cook the pies at 650-700 degrees F, which makes them crisp and adds a superficial "char" that's reminiscent of the marks created by grilling meats or vegetables. It's all part of the flavor.
